Monday in Montreal

Monday with Mom in Montreal. What a beautiful day for exploring this beautiful city, a mash up of old and new, as it celebrates its 375th birthday. So much art, so many kind people, and a decent dose of cobblestones. (Inside joke there) 3 memorable moments: Notre Dame with its striking blue ceiling and entire wall of stained glass devoted to women (primarily women introducing Jesus and Mother Mary to Iroquois women), the light fixtures in the the area of the underground city we visited have the most complimentary design imaginable, and the steps by the Contemporary Art Museum painted by a local artist group with colors and step by step (get it?!) directions for playing a game with a partner where 2 artists in magical outfits and masks engaged me in delightful conversation about the multiple interactive installations currently available in the area. Such a beautiful way to begin our journey!
